Therapeutic Massage
Perfect for guests looking for either a deep tissue, neuromuscular or sports massage or a combination of all three. Deep tissue massage is a strong, focused massage that targets deeper layers of the muscle tissue and fascia, while breaking down adhesions. Neuromuscular massage utilizes deep pressure and friction to release areas of strain on specific points for relief of pain and promote increased mobility and balance the central nervous system. Sports massage combines deep tissue massage with passive and active stretching techniques the goal is to enhance endurance, lessen the chance of injury and shorten the time needed to recover from an activity.

Urbana Mom
This prenatal massage is a time for the mother-to-be to relax and experience deep comfort and tranquility. This healing and nurturing massage is available after the first trimester of pregnancy. The soothing touch of our therapist, will gently reduce aches and pains, ease swelling and improve circulation; relieving many of the physical discomforts associated with pregnancy. Our Urbana Mom massages are offered in both side lying massages with comfortable pillows or using a Pregnancy Body Support System.

Ashiatsu Massage
Buddhist monks created this ancient form of bodywork to help alleviate neck and lower back pain, improve posture and increase energy circulation. The therapist holds onto ceiling bars while applying pressure as deeply as desired to the client’s body by using his/her weight. Ashiatsu barefoot massage allows the therapist to manipulate soft tissue leaving the body feeling restored and rejuvenated.

Thai Poultice Massage

CBD Infused Massage
Bring your true Urbana Experience inside and out with our CBD Infused Massage. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabis compound that is non-psychoactive and has been used for it’s natural anti-inflammatory, anti-seizure, pain-relieving and nerve-calming effects. The goal of this service is to reduce inflammation, alleviate chronic pain and stimulate the release of endorphins. Utilizing some trigger point therapy, accompanied by long warming massage strokes, the CBD compound – a combination of cannabidiol product, menthol, camphor and arnica – is applied and kneaded into the skin. Urbana’s CBD infused massage incorporates pure CBD oil derived from hemp plants. The infused massage oil is rubbed into the skin throughout the session to provide a unique sense of calm and relaxation.

Detox Cupping Massage
The practice of Cupping as an alternative medicine dates back as early as ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. The use of cups allows for the stretching and opening of muscle tissue. This lifting creates space to drain toxins from the cells and remove waste through the lymphatic system. It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction. The suction may facilitate healing with blood flow. Proponents also claim the suction helps facilitate the flow of “qi” in the body.
Over the years, toxins from the environment, processed foods, and chemical additives, accumulate in our blood, tissues, and muscles. Detox cupping helps to drain excess fluid, loosen adhesions, and encourage blood flow to stagnant tissues to discharge waste. Reiki (Energy Therapy - Not a Massage Service)
Reiki is a healing modality which deals with chi (life force energy). Chi is all around us, it is in all living things. Sometimes we have blockages in our bodies that prevent chi from flowing evenly, which can have an effect on our mental or physical well-being. During a Reiki treatment the Reiki practitioner places hands on the client to move energy through the Chakras within the body, clearing out blockages and allowing chi to flow freely. Reiki balances and harmonizes energy, reduces stress and promotes healing. Reiki is not associated with any form of religion, and is safe for everyone.
